Bras for hard-to-find Plus Sizes

Plus Sized lingerie is difficult to find and the larger sizes within Plus Size are a real challenge.

The Goddess Bra Company manufactures bra styles specific for Plus Size women. They focus on the large cup styles. Theses styles offer encapsulating support and encourage back comfort. They are designed with tall front support panels, non stretch straps and 4 hook closures to aide in support.

In 1945 a woman named Helen Jacobson started this company because she could not find bras to fit her fuller figure. With her guidance they quickly became a leader in this market and still are today.

The company has been through many changes since 1945 and are now owned by Eveden Inc. Evenden is also the manufacturer of other high end lingerie brands such as Rigby & Peller and Fantasie based in the UK. If you know these brands you know they must be good proving the bras are beautifully made.  

Goddess bras are available in a nice style selection in sizes from 36DD thru 54F.  

Goddess has a “Special Order” program where large size bras can be ordered in their style range. This is great as the majority of stores do not stock these sizes. Plan ahead when you need something because it will take up to 3 weeks but you will be thrilled with the product.

Olympic Spirit - Plus Size Sports Bras

The eyes of the world are focused on the Vancouver 2010 Olympic games. I am not a huge sports fan however I can’t help feeling the international enthusiasm for the best of the best.

While I am immersed in sports, I think it is a good time to look at plus size sports bras. A sports bra is a must for walking as well as working out or impact sports. If you are catching Olympic fever and are ready to get active, the bra you choose is important for you.

Unfortunately there are not a great variety of sports bras in larger sizes. The sports bra is a softer, unstructured bra made of a moisture wicking fabric. Some women prefer this style for every day as well as exercising.

These bras can almost look like a summer top. They have no wires in them for comfort when moving. The back is usually a racer back or close set straps in the back to give freedom to the shoulder blades during movement. The high tech fabrics make these styles so comfortable and soft against the skin with the moisture wicking ability as a great asset.

Sports bras have attention given to comfort during movement so that nothing will bind up or rub and create sore spots on the skin. Most hooks are padded and the trims are covered in a soft microfiber. No lace or pretty bits. These bras have a job to do …..
