A Couple of Great Big Double-D Woo-Hoos! (& Beauty Skool Update #8)

My cups runnneth over (again) 'cuz my humble (well, sorta) Travel-Blog

has been chosen by Tripbase travel website as one of

I am truly honored to be included on this list of award recipients...'specially since most of them are professional travel-photographers...and, tho' I am a professional globe-trotter, I simply canNOT get the hang of snapping a decent (or, indecent) picture! Plus, if I took the pictures, then I wouldn't be IN them, now would I?!?! (duh.)

ALL of the photos you see on my blog have been taken by one of my awesome Chaperons, or my trusty Blog-Mistress (who also is responsible for making up stuff penning the adventures that go along with my photos.)

So I'd like to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my cups to Tripbase for the honor of this award, and give a couple of great big Double-D WOO-HOO's to ALL of my Chaperons for your fantastic support ~ if it weren't for ya'll, I'd never have gotten very far!...or had any decent (or indecent) pictures to show for it!

As for my Blog-Mistress......she can go get her own dang award!

As ya'll are painfully aware know,
instead of devoting her life entirely to
ME and MY Exciting Globe-Trotting Adventures,
my blog-mistress has slowly but surely been infiltrating
MY TRAVEL BLOG with HER silly "Adventures in Beauty Skool!"

*sigh*

...guess I only thought I was done puttin' up with her stuff.

My Blog-Mistress Has Lost Her Head(s)! (Beauty Skool Update #6)

Poor Tit...

and Tat...For 6 lonnnnng WEEKS, they endured some very hair-raising experiences at the hands of my blog-mistress during the "Freshman Training" phase of her Adventures in Beauty Skool...

Which, she passed with flying colors!So now Tit & Tat can finally relax 'cuz my blog-mistress will be spending the next 1400 HOURS practicing everything she's learned on real, LIVE people! And

Hoppy Easter! (And Beauty Skool Update #4)

Easter Greetings from Paradise! Woo-Hoo!

Looks like Spring has finally sprung here in chilly Ottawa, Canada!

And seein's how I nearly froze my DD's off whilst hangin' 'round

Fidel and MedStudentWife...

it's not a moment too soon! Actually, this week I've felt pretty dang toasty ever since MedStudentWife

made me some nice, warm, fur cups-liners...and I even helped!

Looks like my blog-mistress isn't the only one learning to use scissors now, eh?

Speaking of which.....
Tit finally got in on the Beauty Skool action during the

"Wet Hair Styling" lesson.

And while her roller-set isn't very exciting...

she was VERY excited not to have to endure pincurls...

and finger waves like poor Tat!

A new face joined Tit and Tat to help with the "Skincare" lesson... She's blind and hairless and doesn't even have a name....

BUT I'm calling her "Lucky" 'cuz she gets facials EVERY day,
and her skin is unbelievably smoooooth!

Oooh, and the blog-mistress got an unexpected lesson in "blow-drying" after spilling coffee all over her workbook.

And she did a damn-fine job too!

Just look at all that volume she achieved!

I'm so proud, I could almost forgive her for not posting ANYTHING on my blog last week!

Another Weekend In Paradise (And Beauty Skool Update #3)

Amazingly enough...

during her FIRST WEEK in Beauty Skool,

not only was my blog-mistress allowed to real scissors

on actual hair ...but the next week they trusted her to mix chemicals and give Tat a perm!

Which fortunately turned out looking like this...

Meanwhile....as for me...
My Ottawan Chaperons have been busy exposing me to life in Canada...

and, brrrrrrr....it sure is nippy in Paradise!

Thank goodness Fidel showed me the view from inside the car!
And by the professional manner in which he touched my sensitive underwires,
I can tell he's gonna make a fine doctor someday...just as long as he remembers to keep his hands warm!

His wife, however, has FREEZING cold hands!
So I'm really glad she remembered her gloves!
Too bad she forgot her sunglasses though, eh?

What A Couple Of Head Cases! (Beauty Skool Update #1)

Today was my blog-mistress's second day of Beauty Skool...

and so far, so good!

(Except for dousing her teacher with water during a shampoo lesson...ooops!)

Here are the lovely mannequin heads my blog-mistress will be torturing

practicing her soon-to-be-acquired skills upon! She was very excited about getting her heads until...

she was told that they usually arrive (from "somewhere overseas")

sporting a combination of human and Yak hair

with dead lice clinging to the strands!

(Oh. My. GAWD!!)

So after careful scrutiny (and a queasy stomach)

she was THRILLED....

to discover that her heads have

100% human, 0% Yak, AND totally lice free hair!

But...they also don't have names!

But I told my blog-mistress not to worry 'cuz

I bet MY READERS would be happy to call them names!

Won't you?!!

Music Monday/And An Explanation

You may have noticed that my blog-mistress has not been

paying ATTENTION TO ME!

around much lately...?

Well...there's a perfectly somewhat logical explanation for that...

you see, she's going crazy,

through a mid-life crisis,

back to school.

So... instead of cruising 'round the blogosphere in her jammies 'til long past noon everyday (and night!)...she's having to go to bed at reasonable hour,

be up before the sun, organized, disciplined and use her all of brain!

Which has thrown the ol' gal for a loop just a little off course...

She assures me that normal blogging activities will resume....but in the meantime, she's asked me to "cut her some slack" and "show a little support!"

Yah, well I've Been There, Done That!!!...so...I guess it won't kill me to do it again...

I just hope it doesn't kill her!
