It's My Blog-iversary!

Woo-hoo!!! Today marks the 1st Anniversary of my blog! It's hard to believe that 365 days and 185 blog posts ago, I didn't even know what a BLOG was! So, pardon me for puffing out my chest a bit (more than usual) today, 'cuz as you can see by my blog stats, things are definitely on the up swing and I'm looking gooooood! When I first set forth on my pioneering journey, my goal was simply to travel around from friend to friend and record my adventures here on my blog. Little did I know that I'd end up meeting so many NICE people both in person and online! Nor did I ever imagine that I'd end up visiting 32 cities, 16 states, 4 countries, and logging more than 43,000 miles in one short year! It has all surpassed my wildest dreams, and that's saying a lot!

So, to all my friends, old and new, far and wide...I raise my cups and toast to YOU ~ Here's to the next 365 days and THANK YOU for your support! If you have a blog, PLEASE accept/post this badge I have created as a Token of my Appreciation. If you don't have a blog, well, why not?!? You should try it - it's tons of fun! And ya never know where it might lead you! Take it from me, Olga, the Traveling Bra!

And, for a stroll down mammary lane, how about checking out some of my exciting globetrotting adventures from this past year?...they are all listed in My Amazing Journey ~ (so far) located at the top of my side bar...or read my Amazing & 100% True Story which details how it ALL began! Thanks again everyone! Ta-Ta!! (for now!)

PS: My pal Diary of a 70's Teen is also celebrating her 1st blog-iversary - be sure to drop by and wish her well!

BUSTED! at the Knit Knot Tree in Yellow Springs, Ohio

Well, I guess it was inevitable...a big ol' bodacious Bra traveling around all by herself was bound to attract the attention of The Authorities sooner or later!
But who'da thunk I'd ever end up getting BUSTED
for making a public spectacle of myself in peaceful Yellow Springs, Ohio?
Certainly not me! But, here's how it all went down...

I was in Yellow Springs yesterday to check out a
unique art exhibit I'd read about on the Internet....
My Chaperon, Esqueleta (a very old but respected local artist) hosted a little cocktail party in my honor which was attended by several other local celeBRAties...But then Esqueleta (being a big old party pooper) started resenting all the attention I was getting (especially from a cute little bra-ling named Vicky)....
So she broke up the party and made me help her with her knitting!
Hmphf!...I did not think being a yarn holder was very becoming of one
so bodacious as I... ...so Vicky and I decided to ditch the ol' bag of bones and skipped off to see
what I came here for in the 1st place...the famous Knit Knot Tree!
Woo-Hoo! It was SPECTACULAR!!! I'd read about the Knit Knot Tree on the artist's blogs Jafabrit's Art and JafaGirlArt, and was so captivated by it's beauty, I just had to come and see it for myself! And as I hung upon the brightly colored tree branches, I felt inspired to release my own creativity...as well as my inhibitions...and so - I just let it ALL hang out!
Apparently this was quite entertaining for the local residents, as they were lining up just to get a gander at this wild and crazy bra hanging upon their tree...even Marco Comegys, Yellow Springs' famous local bra model, stopped by to have his picture taken with me!
But then....
I guess things got a bit too rowdy and I was BUSTED
for "wild flirtation with the local men" and being a "public nuisance"!
Oh the humiliation!
Luckily, the Police Chief let me off with only a stern warning
to "control myself"...
...then he stamped my passport to ensure I'd have a permanent record
of my very wild and breastly day in Yellow Springs, Ohio!
The artists/creators of the now FAMOUS KNIT KNOT TREE in Yellow Springs, Ohio are Corinne Bayraktaroglu and Nancy Mellon. They were inspired to start this project by a group of graffiti knitters, called Knitta, who tag inner cities with vibrant, stitched works of art. Corrine, Nancy, and the Tree all have become local celeBRAties in their own right - please read more about the Knit Knot Tree here and here, and see more amazing examples of other tree sweaters here and here!

And in case you're wondering
Why a Knit Knot Tree?
Here's what Corrine says:
"Well it's simple really.
Because we can, because it's fun,
because it makes people smile,
because it brightens up a dreary winter's day,
because children go ooooooh!aaaaaaaah!
because!!!!!! Life is too short to be getting yer knickers in a knot!"

How 'bout a little boost?

Ta-Ta (for now!) - Paris, France!

I wanted to share with ya'll a few more photos that my GOOD bloggy-pal
Lisa of OMyWord took of moi while I was hanging with her in Paris...
Do you know what this is a picture of?
It's a never before seen and very bodacious view of the Eiffel Tower!
...as seen through my eyes cups.
Lisa and awesome My Pair O' Chaperons, Heather and April, exposed me to
lots of new and wonderful things in Paris...but my most surprising discovery was
that I LOVE DISCO!
balls, that is...not music.
Here I am at Sacré-Cœur Basilica, a Roman Catholic church on Montmarte. Perpetual adoration of the Blessed Sacrament (a consecrated host which has been turned into the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ) has continued uninterrupted in the Basilica since 1885. Visitors are asked to dress appropriately and to observe silence so as not to disturb those who have come to pray in this special place. So I respectfully yanked up my straps and
controlled myself - just like a good bra should.
On my last night in Paris, I gazed at the stars and wondered aloud where life (& FedEx) would lead me next. I really didn't want to leave...I'd fallen in love with Paris (and rather attached to Lisa)...it was almost like being in a dream, or a movie even! Then Lisa, being the wise woman that she is, grabbed me and said:

Olga, last night we said a great many things. You said I was to do the thinking for both of us. Well, I've done a lot of it since then, and it all adds up to one thing: you're getting on that Fed Ex plane tomorrow where you belong.

Me: But, Lisa, no, I... I...

Lisa: Now, you've got to listen to me! You have any idea what you'd have to look forward to if you stayed here? Nine chances out of ten we'd both wind up in a concentration camp! (Note: she'd been a fair amount of drinking wine that night.)

Me: You're saying this only to make me go.

Lisa: I'm saying it because it's true. If that plane leaves the ground and you're not on it, you'll regret it. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow, but soon and for the rest of your life.

Me: But what about us?

Lisa: We'll always have Paris. Now, now...here's looking at you kid.

Me: Lisa, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Au revoir Paris! (for now!)

"Run Hard and Long!" (Part Deux)

Each year, on a Sunday in April, the streets of Paris are filled with
35,000 marathon runners!...and this year,
1 very bodacious black bra!
The Paris Marathon begins on the Champs Elysees, then runs down the Boulevard to Place du Concorde, past the Louvre and out to the east of the city...then it joins the banks of the River Seine and returns past Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower on the way to the finish at the Arc de Triomphe on Avenue Foch!
That's a total of 26 miles, 385 yards!...& quite a stretch for this ol' bra! How did I do it? Check it out:
First, the night before running those 26 miles, 385 yards,
my Marathon Mistresses made sure my cups were fully carbo-loaded
with mounds of delicious spaghetti!
And since I'd be running 26 miles, 385 yards,
I also enjoyed several delicious croissants for breakfast ~ 100% guilt-free!!
Then I listened to my favorite inspirational music and got all pumped up about running 26 miles, 385 yards!
Finally...my Marathon Mistresses strapped me on...and
we joined the throng at the starting line: "The journey of 26 miles, 385 yards begins with a single step."Here we are at the 5 Mile Mark! Only 21 miles, 385 yards to go!
At the 10 Mile Mark, I convinced my Mistress to pull over for a quickie photo op in front of my favorite store! (Only 16 more miles, 385 yards to go....)
The Finish Line!
Woo-Hoo!!! We did it! All 26 miles and 385 yards!!!
THANK YOU to my incredible Marathon Mistresses, Kelly and Courtney,
for sharing this awesome, once in a lifetime (for me) experience!
Now please....take me home!!!

Olga, the Traveling Inspirational Bra

Looks like word of my pioneering journey as the world's first Traveling Bra is creating quite a stir in the undergarment underworld! With the exception of some rather uptight knickers and a few old granny-panties, (who've gotten themselves all bunched up in a wad over my "alternative lifestyle") most of my peers have been very supportive! In fact, I'm happy to report that several of my contemporaries have even followed suit!

"Run Hard and Long!" (Part 1 of 2)

WHAT A GREAT PICTURE! ...of Courtney and Kelly!!!
But I look GINORMOUS! HOLY COW! Why did I eat so many croissants?!?
Oh well...Looks like I'll be supporting BOTH gals in the
Paris Marathon!...C'est la vie! Especially (and surprisingly) since the Sports Doctor declared me perfectly fit!
(Or was that a perfect fit?)
Whatever....
Let's celebrate!!!
Check out this awesome "Good Luck" CUP-cake!
(Thanks Jeanna for that gem of a caption!)

OK...I never thought I'd say this,
but...I'M STUFFED!

How many miles are we going to be running?!??!

You Show Me Yours.....

Believe it or not - I usually don't go around revealing my private stuff to just anyone, OK? But, my favorite Redneck, Crusty (aka: "Robert") of From the Roads requested that I "show him my desktop." Now, perhaps Crusty was speaking euphemistically...ya never can tell, he's so poetic 'n all...but since he's been feeling a little droopy lately, I decided to go ahead and do it! Anything to perk a friend up! But you'll have to click on this pack of gum to see it... My Next Post: It's Tea Time in England!
