Olga Goes to Work!

Well, today I got a little taste of Corporate America
(and then some)...
...when My Accommodating New Jersey Chaperon let me
tag along with her to work!

Phew!
Typing is hard work...I need a break!

Mmmm....coffee always perks me UP!
But I don't really feel like typing anymore....I think I'll go poke around The Office and see what kind of trouble I can get into interesting things I can find!

Woo-hoo!
A copy machine!

They say being copied is the highest form of flattery...
so I made several copies of myself!
Hey, I wonder what's behind THAT door over there?....

Well, looky what I found over in the Marketing Department!
And how about THAT door....?

Woo-hoo ~ Jackpot!
The Boss has The Good Stuff!

Weeee!!! I think I LIKE working now!
Oh, hi there Mr. Bossman! Hey!... how 'bout giving My Hardworking Chaperon a promotion? I mean, she works like a friggin dog around here and could really use some new socks for gawdsakes...didn't you read her self evaluation?! And....whaddaya mean "Who the hell am I and how'd I get in here?!"....

Thankfully, My Observant Chaperon found me before I got her fired completely lost control and took me outside for a little "time out"...

where I had to endure a little "lecture" about my
"alcohol consumption"...yadda-yadda-yadda....

I will spare you the details of what happened next....
but suffice it to say that I learned my lesson!

To never work and drink at the same time again!

My Christmas in New Jersey

Hanging out with Meleah's family in New Jersey
for Christmas was a real HOOT!
They're such a warm and friendly bunch
and welcomed me right in with open arms...

or heads,

and made me feel
just like part of the Colonna Hawthorne Walter clan!

Whoa - Dood!
Now where do you suppose he learned THIS move?!?

From Grandpa maybe ?!
Woo-hoo!
Aunt Bea was a little furclempted after I told her that
85% of all women are wearing the wrong size bra!

But that news that didn't seem to bother baby Mason
in the least little bit!
I think if I ever I quit being a Traveling Bra,
I'd like to become a Traveling BLANKIE!
Thanks Meleah and family for the wonderful Christmas!
I can hardly WAIT for New Years Eve!

Jammies in New Jersey

I guess I caught my New Jersey/New Years Chaperon,
the Amazing Ms. Meleah, a little by surprise this morning -
look who's still in her adorable pink jammies!
Is she not CUTE or WHAT?!? And such a NEAT bedroom too!

I LOVE it here already! We had Haagen-dazs ice cream for breakfast!

And birthday cake for lunch!

And, well...OK, maybe he's not Santa Claus
but I think he's a close relative!
PS: This is post #100! Woo-hoo!

New York! New York?

Just imagine ME, Olga, the Traveling Bra, in NEW YORK!
Stretched across the Brooklyn Bridge...Lending Lady Liberty a little support...Hoisted high atop the Empire State Building - woo-hoo! Or even "doing" Letterman! I know, sorry Dave....maybe next time!
{sigh}

OK, so maybe things didn't go exactly as planned in New York, but not to worry! One thing I've learned about being a Traveling Bra is to always expect the unexpected! And when the going gets tough, if you just hang on tight, sooner or later things usually have a way of straightening themselves out! Now, I'm off to New Jersey...and Ho-Ho-Oh Momma Mia!...stay tuned for THAT!
Merry Christmas Mimzie...I still love ya!

Feeling Rummy in Aruba

After flying all night, I greeted the beautiful island morning with
a refreshing glass of Caribbean Rum Punch
...and was soon feelin' perkier than ever!My cups were all poised and ready for an exciting day of fun and adventure exploring the island of Aruba!
So we hopped in the Jeep and took off!
As you will see, my Island Chaperon was a very supportive
tour-guide...she drove so I could sip my Rum Punch
and take pictures.
Our first stop was the capital of Aruba, Oranjestad. Aruba is part of the Dutch West Antilles, along with two other islands off the coast of Venezuela. Aruba declared their "independence" from the Dutch in 1986, which was largely symbolic, but they do have their own currency and some real independence because of the income from tourism. Here, I refilled my cups with more of that tasty Rum Punch!
When we found this picturesque Alto Vista Chapel, I just had to stumble inside and take a peak...
How quaint!
And with the Alto Vista Rum Shop located right next door, visitors can conveniently combine their sinning and confessing all in the same trip! (Not that I would know about such things.)
More Rum Punch, please!
Outside the church was a Peace Labyrinth - they say there is no "right way" to walk a labyrinth. You only have to enter and follow the path..it may be joyous or somber...it might be thoughtful or prayerful...or you may want to just use it as a walking meditation. (Tip: I recommend doing it before you've had several cupfuls of Rum Punch.) And really, with my mazeophobia, I should have just avoided the dang thing altogether.
Arikok National Preserve makes up approximately 25% of the island, which is very arid and dry (not something you'd expect in the Caribbean.) The island only gets a few inches of rain a year normally, and you will find that Arikok National Preserve shows what the island is really like - lots of cacti and divi divi trees. My Island Chaperon said she thought they were "exceptionally beautiful and different." I said, "Yeah whatever...gimme that Rum Punch."
We saw some interesting natural land formations too - here's the "Natural Bridge." The pounding surf has carved this dramatic bridge out of coral rock - it is the highest coral structure in Aruba and the island's most famous landmark. The arch measures more than 100 feet long and stands 23 feet above sea level. (hic!)
The "Natural Pool" or "conchi" called "Cura di Tortuga" is a great place to swim. And drink Rum Punch!
Well, by now I was feeling pretty wasted hot and droopy...
so after draining what was left of my Rum Punch,
I said "Bottoms up! - Let's go shnorkeling!"
Here it is! The first Angel Fish ever photographed by a
drunken Traveling Bra!
"Hey Olga, how many fingers am I holding up?"
Phew! Back on land and drying out!
And in the the warm Caribbean sun, I passed out fell asleep...
and when I awoke, had a blazing hangover felt a bit deflated to see that the sun was setting on my exciting Aruba adventure!
I had an absolutely lushious time in Aruba...
and would love to return...but believe me,
these cups are never touchin' Rum Punch again!
So now it's "Ta-Ta Aruba!" and Hello NEW YORK!
(stay tuned....)
